1. From Porto Airport (Francisco Sá Carneiro – OPO) to Coimbra (Airport → Metro Line E (Violet) → Campanhã → Train to Coimbra-B)

‍

• Inside the terminal, follow signs for the Metro do Porto. Take Line E (Violet) to Campanhã station, the major intercity rail hub. Trains run every ~20 minutes. [ces.uc.pt]
• From Campanhã, take an Alfa Pendular or Intercidades to Coimbra-B. Journey time: 1h09–1h22 depending on the service. [porto-nort...rtugal.com]
• Tickets must be purchased before boarding.

Bus Alternative: There are direct buses from Porto Airport to Coimbra (FlixBus or Rede Expressos). Travel time is approx. 1h50.

2. From the Lisbon Airport (Humberto Delgado – LIS) to Coimbra (Airport → Metro Red Line → Oriente → Train to Coimbra-B)

• As soon as you exit the arrivals area, follow the signs to the Metro. The airport is directly served by the Red Line. [lisbonexplorers.com]
• Take the Red Line to Oriente station (about 10–15 minutes), which is one of the main national railway hubs. [coimbrapor...ourism.com]
• Alternatively, you may take a Carris bus, including route 736, which also connects the airport to Oriente. [lisbonexplorers.com]
• From Oriente (or Santa Apolónia), board an Alfa Pendular or Intercidades train to Coimbra-B. Travel time is between 1h36 and 2h00 depending on the service. [myportugal...oliday.com]

Climate

Coimbra enjoys mild weather year-round, with average temperatures ranging from about 11 °C (52 °F) to 21 °C (70 °F), dipping to 4 °C in winter and rising to nearly 29 °C in summer.
